Russian Helicopters has delivered to the international market more than 800 units of Mi-17 helicopters; the volume exceeds the total number of deliveries by other world leading manufactures for the class of medium multi-purpose helicopters.
Mi-17 type helicopters in the period from 2006 to 2016 retained their leadership in the volume of supply to the world market for medium-sized multipurpose and military transport helicopters. The volume of their export exceeded the total number of deliveries of its foreign analogues and amounted to more than 800 units, "the press service of the Russian Helicopters holding company said.
Helicopters of the Mi-8/17 family are currently produced at the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant and at the Kazan Helicopter Plant of Russian Helicopters. In total, more than 12,000 such machines were produced, which is a record figure among twin-engine helicopters in the world. They were delivered to more than 100 countries around the world, their total flying time is about 100 million hours.
In general, according to the data of Russian Helicopters, in 2016 there were over 8,000 Russian helicopters operating in over 100 countries. Russian Helicopters products account for approximately 90% of the rotorcraft market in Russia and 10% of worldwide helicopter sales (and this is the average number, which takes into account countries where the company is not represented yet) .
As of 2016, Russian Helicopters enterprises produced around 22% of the global military helicopter fleet, 32% of the global combat helicopter fleet, and 42% of the medium-heavy transport helicopter fleet. Russian Helicopters has produced a record 49% of the global ultra-heavy helicopter fleet (MTOW more than 20 tons), as well as 65% of the global medium helicopter fleet with MTOW from 7 to 20 tons.
